NPD Technologist – Food Manufacturing

Salary circa £30,000 pa + 33 days holiday, including bank holidays

Kent / Surrey – Days Monday to Friday

We are seeking an enthusiastic Graduate who is passionate about food and has the determination to develop a successful career within the food manufacturing industry. Within this newly created role, the successful applicant will join a dynamic Product Development team and will embark on a training programme that will see them develop their technical, product and process knowledge.

Duties will include:

* Coordination of the NPD cycle, taking products from test kitchen concepts all the way through to product commercialisation and full-scale introduction into manufacturing.

* Working closely with major Supermarket customers to interpret their ideas into sellable products. This will include developing recipes, trialling raw materials, testing products at the development stage, organising taste panels for new products.

* Ensuring the New Product Development process is being followed correctly, monitoring of NPD/Process documentation associated with multiple NPD projects being running simultaneously and ensuring recipe lists and label information is being properly recorded.

* There will be a requirement to update customer specifications and utilise various online Retailer Technical Portals, organise Factory trials, work closely with Production teams, and undertake shelf-life assessments.

* This is a customer-facing role and the NPD Technologist appointed will get involved with Customer Presentations, visiting Retail customers at their head offices, liaising with customers at different stages of the NPD cycle.

The NPD Technologist will work closely with experienced Food Technologists and Product Developers and will use their enthusiasm and ability to absorb complex information and build relationships with a range of stakeholders. In terms of the type of character we are seeking, this is someone who is passionate, presentable, motivated, organised, determined.

Applicants will hold a Food Technology degree combined with a minimum of 12 months experience of working within the NPD function of a Food Manufacturing business in the UK.

This role is based in Kent and is commutable from: Petts Wood, Sevonoaks, West Malling, Borough Green, Bromley, Swanley, Dartford, Orpington, Chislehurst, West Wickham, South Croydon, Addington. Ref 3521
