Our client design and manufacture precision forged and machined components and are currently recruiting for Procurement Lead to join their team. As a Procurement Lead you will be responsible for supporting development of the procurement activities within the business. In addition, responsibility for supplier compliance throughout and ensure the supply chain meets business needs.
Hours of work will be Days (Monday to Friday) Salary up to £40,000 per annum plus competitive benefits package.
Reporting directly to the Head of Procurement , your key responsibilities will include:
* Focus on and manage the raw material supply chain for the business requirements
* Build strong relationships between supply partners and co-ordinate improvements
* Responsible for measuring raw materials launch performance into production and ensuring adherence to plan against incoming deliveries
* Mitigate material shortages and ensure the flow of raw materials
* Review procurement processes and assist in development and improvement of process
* Optimise supply frameworks, ordering cycles, stock levels, lead times and process times to ensure full availability
* To maintain documentation in accordance with business standards
* Work closely with NPI teams, quality, conformance and logistics functions to ensure continuous quality supplies and to identify lean and continuous improvement opportunities
To be successful in the role of Buyer you will hold the following skills and experience;
* At least 5 years in supply chain operations, either a material controller or planning role with a procurement bias
* Proficient in MRP systems, with at least 5 years experience of end to end MRP and product flow
* Possess a solid understanding of aerospace quality standards
* Strong and proven background in supplier relationship management including expertise in the application and use of negotiating techniques and principles
* Experience of managing a small team, including people development
* Be organised and able to multi task
* High level of knowledge of Finance, Material Requirement Planning, Inventory Control Techniques, Value Analysis, Production Process
* Able to use Microsoft Office
* Excellent communicator at all levels
This position is based near Redditch and is easily commutable from Droitwich, Bromsgrove, Alcester, Studley, South Birmingham, Solihull, Worcester, Kidderminster and Stourbridge.
