White Label is excited to be working with a specialist engineering manufacturer in their search for a Proposals Engineer during this exciting period of growth.
As the Proposals Engineer, you will be responsible for developing cost-effective solutions for the Commercial and Business Development teams. You will ensure customer and company needs are met while identifying opportunities to improve conversion rates.
Key Responsibilities of the Proposals Engineer:
* Lead and support the management of commercial projects to develop new business in line with company growth strategies.
* Monitor and audit commercial & sales processes to identify and implement improvements in procedures and policies.
* Ensure high-value projects and enquiries are logged in the system and provide updates to maintain awareness of business opportunities.
* Analyse new item data, report inconsistencies, and communicate recommendations.
* Conduct reviews of gross margin and material variance
* Maintain the costing system by creating manufacturing cost sheets to ensure accurate pricing and support system users as needed.
* Ensure continuous improvement of company systems by collaborating with system providers to implement value-adding and cost-reducing solutions.
* Proactively seek knowledge on new products, processes, tools, and input materials to ensure appropriate costing procedures.
The Person:
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency in costings, proposals or estimating and the ability to read technical drawings
* Strong understanding of routes and Bills of Materials (BOMs) is desirable
* Excellent problem-solving skills to reduce waste streams.
* A willingness to learn and grow within the business.
Benefits Package
* Annual salary up to £35,000
* Enjoy a good work-life balance with a 4 ½ day workweek, finishing at 12:30 pm on Fridays.
