Family Practitioner required to provide targeted family support to families with multiple and complex needs and subject to a range of other statutory interventions in North Devon. To work families to help to support them to reduce the risk of children and young people becoming accommodated in the local authority care. Supporting families in crisis with appropriate skilled interventions and practical support.

To deliver earlier and quicker services to families working as part of a small cluster and working in partnership with other professionals across North Devon. The post holder will need to build relationships with families and provide practical hands on help, support and challenge to support the family to make positive changes. The post holder will need good communication skills and should be adaptable when working with families. The post hold will need to be driven and efficient dependable, tenacious and assertive, working with families who have been previously apprehensive to interventions from Children’s Social Care.

This will be a combination of hybrid/office with an expectation that you will be available in the office for 5 days during your teams’ duty week. The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive and friendly team.

Devon is a mostly rural county, and as our localities cover a large area and accordingly our candidates can be expected to travel some distance between visits. Candidates will not be able to rely on walking, cycling or public transport to make visits. We therefore require candidates to have access to their own suitable transport, subject to reasonable adjustments that may need to be made in line with the Equality Act 2010.
