Change lives in a life-changing career

When a child or young person is diagnosed with cancer, their whole world can feel like it’s falling apart. Independence is taken and confidence is stolen. Stability no longer exists. The future suddenly feels uncertain.

The impact of cancer on young lives is more than medical. That’s why we exist.

When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear; for them and their family. Fear of treatment, of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, or no one to talk to.

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. You could be a part of the team making it happen.

One of the services we provide to families is a Home from Home Service. Our Homes from Home are a free place for families to stay when their child is going through cancer treatment.

About the role

We’re looking for a Housekeeper to join our Belfast Homes from Home Team.

We are currently recruiting for a Housekeeper to work 16 hours per week at our Homes from Home in Belfast. As there are two Homes from Home in Belfast, the role requires movement between both houses, Amy’s House and Paul’s House.

Are you dedicated, supportive and enjoy seeing how the little things make such a difference? Then this position is a great role for you. Our homes need passionate and meticulous people to help maintain a high level of housekeeping so that our families feel safe, comfortable and supported.

The successful candidate will support the House Manager in maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home.

This role is subject to a criminal record check. In the event of a successful application an enhanced criminal record check will be completed.

Quote from a family who have been supported by our Homes from Home
“We cannot express how grateful we are to be able to access such as amazing facility. It just takes so much pressure out of a horrid and difficult situation”

We’re on a journey to be reflective of the diverse children, young people and families we support. We know we aren’t there yet, and we’re passionately committed to taking actions and making changes to be a truly diverse, inclusive and equitable organisation. This includes taking anti-oppressive action and removing barriers in our recruitment practices. We particularly welcome applications from members of minoritised communities.
