Head of Marketing for Events/Exhibitions/Trade Shows

* upto £55,000 basic

* additional 10% Performance bonus

* 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home

About the role

Reporting in to the Director of Marketing, the Head of Marketing oversees all marketing activities within the business:

managing the marketing team

budgets

setting goals

developing the marketing strategy and marketing plan

ensuring a consistent brand messaging across multiple marketing channels

Role Description:

The Head of Marketing analyses the company’s goals and has a deep understanding of the different exhibitions and their target audiences, to develop a detailed cross channel marketing plan for each of our exhibitions, to achieve previously agreed KPIs (number of new business leads, number of visitors, quality of visitors etc.).

* keeps up to date with market and industry trends, including advancements in marketing technology such as AI.

* regularly benchmarks our exhibitions with the industry’s leading events, performs competitor research, and keeps track of new developments within the exhibition industry.

* allocates the resources (team and budget) to execute and deliver on the agreed marketing plan for each exhibition.

* is constantly reviewing campaign performances and is adjusting the campaigns where needed to reach the agreed campaign goals / KPIs, utilizing a data-driven approach.

* is proactive in establishing new media partnerships, social media partnerships, and in reaching out to associations and government agencies to form strategic partnerships supporting our exhibitions.

* works closely with our exhibition managers and aligns the marketing strategy with the exhibition needs.

* is responsible for defining the branding and messaging on a corporate level, as well as for the different exhibitions.

* is responsible for setting up an approval process for all artwork and content before publishing.

* is responsible for putting together the marketing budget, along with the business owners, and for always keeping it transparent, as well as giving budget reports to management on a regular basis.

* is giving regular campaign and performance updates to management.

* is the line manager of the marketing team, sets employee bonuses, is responsible for performance reviews, and is driving the marketing recruitment process when needed.

Key requirements:

* Degree in Communications or Marketing.

* At least 8 years’ experience in a business-to-business marketing role.

* At least 3 years’ experience in managing a marketing team.

* Work experience within the exhibition industry (or media sales).

* Data-driven and KPI focused.

* Awareness of latest trends in marketing technology such as AI.

* Experience with marketing automation tools, e.g., Salesforce Journey Builder.

* Proven track record in campaign planning and strategy.

* Experienced in messaging, content creation and design.

* Experienced in running integrated, multi-channel campaigns (channels include but are not limited to e-mail marketing, social media marketing (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Gleanin etc.), google ad campaigns, SEO, websites, WhatsApp and SMS campaigns, brochures, billboards, radio advertising, newspaper advertising, media relations, influencer marketing and more).

* Must be a team player.

* Willingness to travel.
