SF Recruitment is working with a leading retailer with over 2000 employees across the UK. They are seeking an organised and enthusiastic HR Officer to join our HR team. This role is ideal for an experienced HR Advisor/Officer or a HR Administrator/Assistant ready to advance their career.
Your responsibilities to include:

Employee Relations

- Manage employee relations issues (investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, absences, redundancies).
- Conduct consultations for contractual changes and redundancies.
- Handle complex disciplinary/grievance cases.
- Support Area Managers with performance management.
- Manage long-term illness cases.
- Prepare employee relations paperwork (meeting setups, outcome letters, redundancy calculations).
- Take notes in employee relations meetings as needed.

Recruitment and Retention
- Plan and coordinate recruitment activities, focusing on management vacancies.
- Conduct shortlisting and telephone interviews.
- Ensure new starter processes are followed (right-to-work checks, inductions, reference checks).
- Ensure exit questionnaires are completed for management leavers.

Training and Development
- Coach and support Store Managers with development needs.
- Support new training initiatives.
- Produce training materials to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

Other Areas
- Maintain employee personnel files.
- Manage and support HR projects.
- Develop HR processes and policies.

What you need to succeed
- Previous experience in a HR role.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Adaptable and flexible with work hours.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong decision-making and negotiating skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of UK employment law and HR processes.
- Good listening and counseling skills.
- Willingness to travel as required (clean driving licence).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
Benefits:
- £30,000- £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- 28 days holiday, increasing to 33 days after 5 years of service.
